£600k investment for community-based restorative justice

Today my colleagues in the Northern Ireland Office announced that over the next three years £600,000 will be invested in Community Based Restorative Justice (CBRJ) schemes.

This new funding package is a joint venture between the Northern Ireland Office and the independent, international foundation, The Atlantic Philanthropies.

The Atlantic Philanthropies has actively supported the work of CBRJ schemes in Northern Ireland for nearly ten years – and I am delighted that our partnership continues.
CBRJ is instrumental in local peace-building and creating non-violent responses to crime and anti-social behaviour.

It is a paradigm for what is happening in the rest of Northern Ireland, where every day we are joining together to build a more stable society and build a new and better future.
