Dedication Service at St. Anne's Cathedral

Last Sunday I attended a service at St. Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast to dedicate a stained glass window to the RUC and its officers killed or injured during the Troubles.

The ceremony was also an opportunity to pay tribute to the work of the RUC George Cross Foundation, which provides a valuable service in keeping alive the memory of the brave men and women within the policing family who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

It was a great honour to join in the dedication at St Anne’s and a special opportunity to remember all the brave men and women who gave their lives to protect the community.

This unique window gives us all a chance to reflect on the extraordinary sacrifice of these officers.
