Business Secretary John Hutton and Lord Digby Jones have this week announced record UK inward investment results for the period 2007-8.
The publication of the ‘UK Inward Investment 2007/8 – Report by UKTI,’ shows that 1,573 investment projects were won by the UK last year, in a fifth consecutive year of inward investment growth
They show:
• 45,051 new jobs created – a 23% increase on 2006/2007;
• 58,488 safeguarded jobs – a 39% increase on 2006/2007;
• A total of 103,539 associated jobs (new & safeguarded) – up 32% on 2006/2007
